About Us
Environmental Technical Institute (ETI) was founded to meet the growing needs of the Heating, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration industry. The founders of ETI have owned one of the largest Heating, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration contracting companies in the Chicagoland area since 1973. This direct industry affiliation and experience provided the knowledge of what type of training is needed to prepare skilled technicians which lead to the following:
1985 ETI’s HVAC curriculum was approved by the Illinois State Board of Education and formal educational programs begin.
1988 ETI was accredited by the National Association of Trade and Technical Schools. Second campus was opened in Blue Island, and classes began at that facility.
1994, 1999, 2004 ETI was accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges of Technology.
ETI gives students the practical knowledge of the industry that will prove invaluable when working in installation, troubleshooting and repair in light industrial, commercial and residential applications.
In addition, ETI provides career placement classes and employment assistance to graduates seeking full-time work. These services are provided through the Career Placement Department. The Career Placement Department offers sessions in professional development that address practical job-seeking skills such as resume writing and preparation, interview skills, completing employment applications and professional appearance. Additionally, students requesting assistance with employment will be given every effort by the placement department in the geographical areas that they prefer.
